On the palate, it is fruity and spicy with a medium body and moderate tannins. It pairs well with savory and hearty dishes such as stuffed aubergines and red peppers, tomato orecchiette, porcini mushroom risotto, cold cuts, medium-ripe cheese, and roasts.
