Refosco (5Ltr - Bordeaux Jeroboam) 2018, Adam Estate
Refosco was the first variety we planted in 2002, and it is now evident that it can give excellent results in our vineyards. Always aiming to produce grapes of the best possible quality, we cultivate organically and aim for low yields, which do not exceed 500 kg/hectare. The grapes are then hand-picked and subjected to strict selection in the vineyard and winery, in order to ensure that only the best raw material is used for the production of Refosco. After 16-18 months in 225 liter French barrels, the result is a wine with spicy complexity and excellent structure.
TASTING NOTES
Refosco Adam has a deep ruby colour with purple highlights and exuberant aromas of sour cherry, cherry, wild raspberry, fig and plum, with a rich spicy feel of cinnamon, paprika, vanilla and red pepper. Hints of leather and bacon gradually make their presence felt, and if it is not already complex enough, add cigar smoke, iodine and ink to the above to complete the uniquely multidimensional aromatic ensemble.
Rich mouth with full body, perfectly balanced acidity and firm but ripe tannins.
