"Payen" 2010, Tabali
TASTING NOTES:
This old-vine Syrah is a big, ripe Syrah from a three-hectare vineyard with a specific soil and very low yields. Thirty percent of the wine is fermented in barriques and the rest in vat, aged for 20-22 months in barrel. Notes of ripe black fruit, blueberries, graphite and Belgian chocolate. The palate is full-bodied, with round, buttery tannins, notes of star anise, shoe polish with lots of glycerin, soft and creamy. A big, juicy Syrah.
