"Machoman" Monastrell, Casa Rojo
TASTING NOTES:
The colour of the wine is a beautiful, intense, bright cherry red covered with blue and purple hues of medium intensity.
On the nose, the wine is unique, very singular. On one hand, the balsamic and menthol notes stand out with hints of rosemary, thyme, lavender, and pine, a pure reflection of the terrain (undergrowth). On the other, we are confronted with ripe red plums, stewed blackberries, blueberries, and blackcurrants, wrapped in a luxurious layer of smoked aromas and dark chocolate, roasted notes, and spices with hints of minerals and tobacco.
On the palate, the wine is flesh, with a strong presence of ripe fruit and highly sweet, yet fresh & balsamic, with a silky, balanced mid-palate and a finish worthy of great wines thanks to the ageing in large oak barrels.
