Grape Variety: The wine is made from Negroamaro grapes. Negroamaro is a native black grape variety from Apulia, and more specifically from the Salento area (in the provinces of Lecce and Brindisi negroamaro covers 70% of the vineyards). It is a variety that adapts perfectly to the hot and dry conditions found in Apulia and, in particular, Salento. At the same time, it benefits from the temperature ranges and the close proximity to the sea surrounding Salento.

Region: The wine is produced in the Salento region of Puglia, Italy.

Producer: The wine is produced by Tenute Rubino. The winery is located in the Salento region and produces high-quality wines such as Primitivo and Negroamaro. Tenute Rubino presents its wines as three different expressions of the same variety: Miraglio is one hundred percent Negroamaro from the Uggìo Estate, while Jaddico and Saturnino are both from the Jaddico Estate. Miraglio is named after the homonymous district adjacent to the estate.

Wine Enthusiast Rating: The wine has a rating of 88/100.

Alcohol Content: The wine has an alcohol content of 14.5%.

Tasting Notes: The Primitivo Punta Aquila is a single-variety wine made from grapes grown in the Uggio-Punta Aquila estate of Tenute Rubino. The wine has a rich aroma of blackberry and plum, with hints of tilled earth and gardenia. The medium-bodied palate is driven by zesty acidity, with raspy tannins and a hint of bitter spice lingering under the lush fruit.
