Merlot "Le Cime - Vulcano" 2020, Zambon
Our Merlot vineyard is located on the Gambellara slope of Mount Crocetta where the soil has a volcanic rock skeleton with red reflections and a slight presence of limestone. The south-facing exposure allows the vines to be enveloped bythe sun's rays from morning until early afternoon. The combination of these elements results in a unique expression - fresh and enveloping at the same time with mineral notes and a well-balanced tannin.
TASTING NOTES:
Fruit-driven with pure forest berry aromas enhanced by herbaceous notes, revealing a plush character of sweet plum, cherry candy, and warming hints of cinnamon and rooibos. The palate delivers surprising juiciness and invigorating freshness, showcasing vibrant cherry fruit elevated by lively acidity and gently integrated tannins that provide perfect structure. Crafted from south-facing volcanic slopes and aged in stainless steel for two years, this wine embodies the pure expression of its terroir and grape variety. At 13% alcohol, it's an approachable, fun wine designed for immediate enjoyment rather than contemplation—exceptional value that celebrates the essence of place.
