Yiannoudi is a rare and indigenous red grape variety from Cyprus, and the Tsiakkas Winery (located in Pelendri) is one of the few producers successfully revitalizing it.
- Aroma & Flavor: Known for a complex profile featuring forest fruits, nutmeg, and black pepper.
- Body & Texture: A full-bodied red with elegant acidity and well-rounded tannins, often compared to premium savory reds.
- Terroir: The grapes are grown in some of the highest vineyards in Europe, specifically on the southern slopes of Mount Troodos at altitudes reaching 1,200 to 1,460 meters.
- Production: Typically aged for 10–13 months in a mix of 90% French and 10% American oak barrels. Production is limited, often around 1,200 bottles per vintage.
- Aging Potential: This wine is built for longevity, with an estimated aging potential of 10+ years.
